  1. Carolyn I hope it's ok but I want to name my new travel van Matilda. Love your story. So I'm new and starting as a weekender due to work but I just put a deposit on my own Matilda!

  2. Thank you for the video i have some work like that to do very soon or waite till next spring i would love to to do it very soon i don't have a ladder to get on it hopefuly its not ruined so bad.

  3. Nice job! Those two products (Eternabond and Dicor) are good to know about. Lol, I have fixed RV Power Converter (nah, but I diagnosed the problem and replaced it!) and Plumbing; this was useful about leaks! With this RV, do you have to be careful when on the roof to walk only where the struts are? I know I had to on the 2009 Forest River Palomino Sabre I rented. Maybe the 1993 was built better in some ways, wouldn't surprise me! Well, when you get a new one, someone will appreciate buying Matilda.

  4. This is a 30-day fix at most, and that's if it doesn't rain. I hate to break the news to you, but you need professional help…I mean the RV roof of course.

  5. Thanks for the tips on sealing leaks, man I use to go on the road gold mining 8 years ago with my travel trailer and had some bad leaks. Well the plastic trim you put over the holes that attach the siding is what i needed to replace did not know that so thanks when I get anouther travel unit I will know! Your great and taught this guy how to fix this problem, your a smart gal!

  6. I love the way your work is never perfect, but you still give it a go, I just loved the end shot of you waving it was great , you always make me feel happy… you are an inspiration even if you are 'totally Random' 🙂

  7. Make sure you caulk all the screws on that trim where the strips are missing. Man! You are an awesome go getter! Not afraid to work! Great video!

  8. Definitely DO NOT NEED TO SIT on a rubber roof camper!! That is sure game for leakage!! Stand on tall ladder beside rv and lean over and fix or place boards ALL the WAY ACROSS, then sit on the boards. : )

  9. Great work! I've been watching a lot of RV videos for the last couple of years in preparation when I make the leap. Since I don't know exactly the RV I will decide to purchase I've decided to watch a variety of models etc.. One tip that made perfect sense was to purchase parts in advance before they go like calipers, brake pads, belts, water pump, gas pump and so on. Some the parts you can purchase rebuilt or through liquidation and even research some junk yards as you're heading into a new location. Most have started a website listing parts they have available and check prices the saving can be huge and save you the time of waiting for parts and drop the price of the repair. You might already know these tips but it can also help those that don't. Not sure if you have any of the service manuals for your RV but they can always offer insight to the inner workings and help you avoid getting ripped off by some of the repair place where they are shady. Regarding your generator sometimes when you have service done wires or hoses aren't secured properly and when you start to drive they fail to make contact and then as you drive again they fall back into place and will work temporarily so checking to see if any are loose etc can be quick solution. I found this link and it contains the service manual for your generator page 7 contains some troubleshooting tips and possible solution

  10. Hey Carolyn, i watch ur videos, i saw u was looking at class b van. (No ovens).. What about a Class B plus, like a born free or maybe a BT Cruiser, or the view they have some ovens…. CLASS B PLUS. instead of a CLASS B. & they have BIGGER refrigerators, biggie bathrooms then the Camper vans. Just a thought….

  11. Carolyn, I really enjoy your videos.  I do cringe when I see the dirty fingernails.  Just saying.  Use a  fingernail file and dig the scum out..  Just sayin..  If that's rude..hope not, just something I see in many of you videos.   Happy trails!

  12. Sorry if you answered this one already, but I didn't make it through all 480 comments, but how many tubes did you use for the back window and the roof? I'm not sure I can afford 2 cases.

  13. Your such a trooper and so brave I love this so much that a year ago I started saving to do this but still saving to buy me my first and I get a glimpse of life on the road threw you and bob and the others, ty so much for all you do.
