It’s leaking on the sides lol
Could have been just a little tiny pinhole
Are you still with us ?? Did this stop leak?
I'm a permanent RV dweller and thinking of just using roofing tar then cool seal on top of it… Any thoughts?
I recently purchase an old RV. I got it home on the day Irma moved through…so heavy rain for over 24 hours. Yep tons of leaks…BUT…. most were not from areas that most RV owners would claim.. Nope not at all. My RV is a two piece fiberglass shell..seamed …and where the seam meets…is where most of the leaks exist. Because at the factory they almost always break the skin…when they assemble them…running the screws through and after year of rattles bumps and weather…the leaks take their toll…. Thus check seams…check places that you don't think water could get in…that is normally where the leaks are…that's why you notice them after they've already caused a stain rot…damage…Hope this helps. BTW Keep in mind water needs a way to run…a place to run too…If it is stopped or left without a place to go…it can and normally will find a way to get in… It needs to have a free path to drain..don;t put so much putty, butyl tape etc…think drain equally with stopping leaks…the water needs to be run away from…not caused to collect at.. Hope my point is well understood..
What is this – a product placement? How did the leak look like? How did you fix it? How is it different from other methods?
Looks better ? Self leveling decor has work well for me . Flex seal in my experience has not worked !
Huh! I am in LA too…Work in Foley. What parks do you recommend in the area? I just got an RV to live in
What about your gutters. There was some Mold Mildew growing there so you might think about looking behind them.
How did the flex seal work ? Just curious as I may pick up a Can for emergencies, thanks.
I replaced dicor covered with eternabond and entombed in liquid Epdm good for 10-15 years
rv armor.. period..4 grand..but probably not for this rig.. when you get new one
well don't wate ontail it rains but get your water hose out turn the water on after the flex seal drys then make it rain. if any of the things on the roof is crack then remove the old stuff and re seal it.
Flex seal is only a temp fix, it will not hold up to extreme heat. Duro Bond tape is your best bet.
Hi, just wanted to mention something about the Flex spray sealant for the RV collective (okay so I'm a Star Trek/Borg fan, resistance is futile) that was told to me by a workamper we met in Arkansas. Eventually every RV's propane tank gets rust and the paint peels off. He told me to peel off the loose paint, then use the Flex spray on it and forget about it. Evidently that stuff is a lot like Eternabond tape, it's eternal, ha!
I had Camping world reseal and clean my roof. Cost about 400 bucks but it was worth it for my peace of mind. Next year, however, Im doing my own sealing and cleaning.
what about your antenna on the cap??
Make sure you clean the little gutters out this also help keep the water from backing up and looking for a place to come in.
……Enjoyed your video and working on doing the same to my travel trailer. Question Please,… Can you help me find your videos in order please? Maybe I'm doing something wrong on my end…..Like this video, I struggled to find it as your video from just a couple of days ago is mixed in with your videos from 4 months ago. Any suggestion appreciated. Thanks again for posting this video!
Getting up on the roof would be so frightening to me, but RVers seem to have no problem with it. Hehe. We had a storm here in Texas today, and it wasn't so bad. It's heading that way, I think. Hope it's not a bad one for y'all.
I had an rv with an end cap that rounds to the side, just like yours. As everyone else says, eternabond tape will certainly work. The only problem or two that I did not like about it, was that you have to extend the tape also over the rounded ends of the roof to the side by the gutter, and it can be seen from the ground. It definitely worked, but everyone could see from the ground there was a patch done. Secondly, also you would need to remove all that chalking there now, for an even look(not an easy job). Some people will just slap it over the chalking, and it will work, but tape will take on the lumpy shape of that chalking along with air bubbles etc. and once that tape touches anything, it is stuck there for life. I am sure you know all of this but It can be kind of tricky to work with and getting it looking right. I hope you can get the inside water stains out too, because I am sure you know that would be a big negative when re-selling the RV. Best of luck with it. I full timed for 5 years, and you are sure bringing back lots of memories for me.
another great video paddy . very hard to get eternabond over in the Uk at a reasonable price but everyone says its magic at this job . changing the subject . could you show how you mounted the Main TV ? does it reduce visibility at all when driving ? and how do you keep it in position on the road ? many thanks Justin
It seems like your fix will need to be a full sealant tear down, clean up, and reseal the entire front cap…chasing down leaks can be maddening!! Good luck!
good luck patty im in the poscess of doing my whole roof going to recoat whole thing starting to clean around vents wth minaral spirtes waiting on rubber roof sealant so cant really do notthing til sealant comes .. but i am clleaning around all vents ac and other things gd luck and i found out my converter / chargers shot . im going thur money like water lol
First off, you are missed in LA! It's Wednesday and I hope that all the leaks are fixed for today's scheduled rain. Take care!
