Today the dog and I visited the long-term bushcraft camp after what felt like ages. I found that the shelter was in serious need of repair due to the extremely long …

Thanks for watching everyone! Sorry I've been gone. There are more videos to come soon, leave a comment below what you'd like to see. Remember to like and share to help me get my channel back up and running!
That is a Osprey.
Nice video but where was the doggies water bowl?
I would have just put the new tarp over the old one.
Where is merry?..
It would be nice to collect enough birch bark to completely cover it instead of tarps
As usual great post!
The chirping sounded like a gray jay to me. Nice job!

Looks like a vintage Puma knife? Is it and which one. I love puma knives
The wood lay-out is geometrically amazing. Great job, nice eye. Stay zealous friend!
If you were near a body of water, river, etc…it could be an osprey or eagle. Osprey make that sort of chirping sound as well as something that sounds like a dog's bark. We have ospreys and eagles here in Oregon, too. Love them…except when they catch my fish and laugh at me while flying away with it…lol!
Where's your girl?
I hope you're still with that girl 🙂
20 mins worth of CLEANING , SWEEPINV AND CLICKBAIT , GET REAL ASSHOLE
Not sure where you are located, but I have heard Gorby's/ Gray Jays/ Canada Jays make a chirp similar to that before.
I think it is a hawk. We have them in the springtime. They sound like a baby chick. Hard to see but sound like a young chick.
Enjoy watching your videos, very concise and to the point. I was wondering, what kind of knife is that? I really like the shape.
Why not go with a canvas tarp? A lot stronger, will last longer and will resist sparks from your fire. I know it will be heavier to pack in, but you won't have to replace it each year. Just curious…
I think if it was a Mountain Lion, the dog would have alerted, as the smell of the lion isnt the same as a bird, my opinion.
Would be cool to see some overnight trips. Like the new tarps more than the blue ones! Maybe do a video where you add some type of feature to the camp.
Me From Thailand I see you everyday you good I lied a mountain My house is in the woods Thailand welcome to thailand Beautiful The Mountain Thank You Sir
great upload.
i always enjoy your quiet videos.
btw i noticed your lake louise t shirt…….. reminded me of my 1st trip to canada 20 years ago . . .
Had the chirping been made by a cougar, wouldn't your dog have responded differently? Good rebuild! Interweaving the small saplings was a great idea.
At first I thought you took the tarps down to put up a more solid structure, and was gonna put those weaved limbs close enough for a solid structure.Still a good video!!
What's called 'light spring cleaning' . . . . :o)
That was 100% an osprey. Cool bird you can hear them for miles. Nice video!
Good to see you back! Remove and replace can be more difficult, and time consuming than the original build, great to see you taking responsibility for what you built and maintain it! One good thing about re-and-re is it's a great opportunity to see what worked, what lasted, and what didn't in order to make corrections, upgrades and improvements. Really looking forward to what you do next!
Hi, there. I'm a new fan. I just wanted to say that I really enjoy your unique approach to vlogging your adventures. Most people would talk constantly or have voice overs. Which is fine… But this… This is just pure enjoyment. It's quiet how nature is supposed to be.
Another great vid. It's been awhile though….. Hope all is well.
Maintaning can be harder than the building of it but you have done an awesome job. The color of the new tarps are way better than the blue ones. Thanks for taking us along not sure what that chirp was.
nice camp 😊 better with the refit tho!
a question, could you have used the blue tarps as ground sheets?
Nice refit Nicholas, looks a lot brighter with the new tarps. Welcome back by the way 🙂
Nicholas Wituik, check out these vids: https://youtu.be/ah2JTzTj9bA 38 seconds in; https://youtu.be/fMj32nwiVK4 at about 15 seconds; and https://youtu.be/qxbHLUuVqSQ. Sounds the same to me. Sobering reminder to be aware of your surroundings!
You should have alternated the new vertical reinforcing branches, under and over the horizontal ones. That way the force on the mount would be less, and it would bend less.
Quite a lot accomplished. Well done. Looking forward to your next video. All the best.
looks a lot better with the green tarp blends into the surroundings
Shelter's looking good after its spring cleaning and repair. The bark walls have held up well. Have you considered heavy duty tarp tape that's UV resistant? This way, you can rotate tarp sets, one set at home to repair and the second set on the shelter.
Might be a cougar cub chirping since it's too high pitched for an adult. Did it sound like some of the sounds from these cubs? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b-ZuqqPt57I
Or just stack some sort of dirt/rock wall there
Brush in that gap along the bottom with evergreen boughs.
All kinds of evergreen boughs to use for bedding.
(Before anyone freaks out…trees can be pruned and grow better)
Good thing you didn't tear up your tarps.
Just found you channel N.W. Nice camp! Looking forward to watch your other and future posts.
