9. I have never seen an apartment complex that allows you to paint the walls or switch out fixtures. Trust me, if I was allowed, the first thing I would have done was paint. I have to make do with command strips and hooks because I am not even supposed to use nails or screws. (Not that I always follow that particular rule… Thank goodness for spackle.) And they inspect every six months, so it's not like I can get around their rules. This is a common complaint from a lot of friends and co-workers, too. So, my question is how do YOU get around these rules? Or are you living in some magical place that allows these things.
