Need lead or copper valley
poor lead
this neck of the wood we use lead!!
That wind problem, probably something you ate, mate. :o)
The valley is made up of valley trough tiles and your roof tiles look like Redland Stonewolds? One of the trough tiles may be broken and the damage may well be out of sight mate….Hope you get it sorted with little cost 🙂
Concrete roof tiles are made to be waterproof even after many years, its a multi multi million pound business by huge company's. The lawsuits that could be brought against major companies by private, industrial and government would be overwhelming by now. Condensation is often mistaken for a leak in tiled roofs.
Hi Woodbine , The stuff used in the video is purely a temp solution. I got a roofer in the end to renew the valley as my wife would not let me go up there and do it . So i am afraid that vid on leadwork will never be done . Never mind,

Come on Al. Get your dresser and bossing stick out and dust off your leadwork skills. Time to use what you learnt in apprenticeship. Get some lead in that valley. It's the only long-term solution.
Will be waiting for a vid on leadwork!
😉
Thanks for the info paul.
kind regards,
al.
tiles are NOT waterproof after a certain age.. the felt takes excess water out after tiles fail , you got old tile s ,, old weave bitchumen felt . the answer is to keep old tiles ,, drop them 3 rows , replace old felt with breathable felt ,, then replace old tiles ,, another 30 years for old tiles ,, if you had welsh slates another 60 years ,,lol !!!!! x
Yes , I have another vid made later called , follow up on to how to repair a roof.

Tip: start from the top and work back down when applying the compound saves climbing over the work you have already done. The only down side to this is you now have compound all over your tiles and when a permanent job is carried out it will show . Also when applying any compound such as the one you listed or Acrypol it needs to be applied thicker people go wrong and try to use it thin like paint and it fails quicker then it should. Have you got a vid of the permanent fix 🙂
Yes it was just a stopgap repair , until done properly as in the follow up video.

Hi,
You were one very lucky man that you didn't employ 123fixmyroof to repair your roof. I have watched two of his videos where he displays his total ignorance of how to carry out basic repairs.
The material you used has it's place in emergency repairs sadly in your case it may cause the roof to leak more as it is blocking the channel of the tiles.
Good to see you found a true professional in the next video.
