  1. My roof is less than two years old and is leaking in the valley where the main roof meets the porch roof..I called the roofer and he says he will be out to see it..what should occur to ensure i dont have any further leaks.I thought about having another company assess the roof..

  2. It's very possible the roof valley may be the source of the leak. Being that your roof is only six month old, I would recommend for you to call your roofer as soon as possible to evaluate and fix.

  3. Yes, the roof valley leak may be originating from an outside source. First, he should check the roof above and to sides of the valley for any missing or damaged roof shingles that need replacing. Second, seal all penetrations such as vent pipe collars, chimney etc in area of valley where needed.
If the ceiling starts to bubble, poke a hole in it so that the water can drain out with a bucket underneath, this will prevent the ceiling from collapsing.

  4. Thank you for this very useful bit of information. I have seen the roofing crews out in my neighborhood with those coils of nails. Several home owners on my street have complained about roof leaks. I will show your video to them – hopefully your tips for finding a roof valley leak will help them.
