  1. I know this is 8 or 9 years ago but I’m just discovering your channel. Which I absolutely love by the way. So many helpful hints that I needed so bad!! I love your jacket you are wearing in this video and tulips are my absolute favorite!!!

  2. not that,u know
    but it's 2005
man you have shared some much I so grateful
thanks I turn 50 this month so the house is what it so I get to shop, I promise I'll make you proud and I'll show you 1/5/2016

  3. I had a friend come over with a bouquet of flowers and she was apologetic about it as she felt that it was a nuisance for the hostess to receive flowers because there never was the right vase at the right time.  But this wonderful tip of yours is just brilliant!  Thank you so much for sharing.

  4. Wow, what a beautiful and lovely gift. I will remember that next time. Thank you for informing me about adding aspirin to the water I look forward to using that the next time I give or receive flowers.

  5. Thanks. I didn't know about the aspirin. I remember when I first learned about cutting flowers at the bottom. We gave a neighbor a gift of flowers (the wrong way, opps). She took them and started cutting them as she was talking to us. We looked at her like she was crazy lol. Then she told us why. =)

  6. hi Rebecca, I find that closed flowers do well with luke warm water and a spash of bleach in the vase with the powder or asprin and wellplace in a warm room BUT NOT ON A WINDOW LEDGE IN THE SUNLIGHT, and my flowers last weeks longer after purchase. hope you find this tip usefull. x

  7. I have a question, what if you want to give a hostess a gift but you are not where you live, like you are out of town and want to give them like a thank you gift, whats the best to do then?

  8. This is a nice idea. I love to always bring flowers. If my friends are nice enough to make me dinner, I love to bring flowers and her favorite dessert. I just discovered you today. I love you already. I love you work. It is exciting, so exciting. You have excited me like no one else has. I will be watching your work forever more. Most of all, I see that you are so loving with your son and daughter. I have two sons. They mean the world to me. You are so inspirational! Thank you.

  9. actually for tulips what you have to fo when you get one is keep the plastic so all the tulips are all close together, cut 2 cm of the stem and put it in you fridge overnight.. in the morning take them off remove the plastic and put them in a vase.. like that they will last longer and stay up right longer. I live in holland so basically the land of tulips 🙂 thanks for the tips RR

  10. Had never thought to present flowers in a water pitcher/carafe like that. [Thunks forehead!] Fabulous idea for a hugely practical keeper far after the flowers are long gone!

  11. Wow Rebecca, this must be an oldie. Great idea to pull some of these out. Loved the tips. I used to bring Ronda flowers wrapped in cellophane and thought I was doing something really nice. Only she didn't think so, cause I'd make more work for her and interrupt what she was doing to get ready. So I stopped bringing flowers! This solves that issue. Makes perfect sense. I am going to do an experiment and try this. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks again Rebecca

  14. Thanks ant4love , I appreciate your comments.
Funny, just last weekend I was at a dinner part and one of the guests brought a bouquet of gorgeous flowers . . . you guessed it, no vase! It was such a case in point. The hostess was befuddled as she hunted down a vase, messed up her countertop with cut stems and loose leaves. I ended up offering to handle it for her but I was again reminded how important is is to "do it right".
Give it a try, you'll be amazed how nice it is for the hostess.

  15. Hi readysetstamp,
Thanks for the encouraging comments. good luck with the tulips!
Regarding the thank you notes, it's really a challenge I agree!
We all have very busy lives and most of us have great intentions. . . the combination is deadly when it comes to following through with acts of kindness. . . important but not urgent! so they get pushed aside.

Join me in keeping first things first!

    Keep up the good work
    RR

  16. Hi Rebecca- I just started watching your videos. I think you are spot on with the flowers. I love to give flowers, but didn't realize tulips would be my best bet. I often sent a thank you note, but have to admit within 24 hours I have not been good at. I could see how important that would be since the event would be fresh in your mind. Thank you for such an informative video! Keep them coming! XOXO, Julie. :0)
